In November 2005, the first Inhibitor Education Summit, held in
Philadelphia was a great success. More than 50 families came together with leaders in hemophilia for a weekend of learning, sharing
and networking.
Last year the success continued. Over the course of 4 summits, 226 families became connected—with information and each other.
Key 2008 agenda topics included:
- Immune Tolerance Therapy (ITT)
- Joint Health
- Surgical Considerations
- Pain Management

Because of the success of the previous summits and to ensure that all inhibitor patients and their caregivers have the chance to attend a summit, 2 summits are planned for 2008. Based on feedback from these past summits, the agenda for the 2008 Inhibitor Education
Summits has been enhanced to meet the needs of the new and returning attendees.
Those who attended the meetings gained much more than new insights into treating and living with an inhibitor. They also created personal and professional connections that will continue to teach, support,
and inspire.
